Jupiter: the ultimate vacuum cleaner

Makes you wonder whether life on other planets is possible without a Jupiter.

In order to think about that, you’d need to know how much garbage able to cause significant damage is floating around every solar system in the universe. Still. If it’s anything like our solar system, it’s most likely that without Jupiter scooping up deadly-sized objects during its orbit around the sun, Earth simply wouldn’t be here.

Naturally, I’m going to pin credit on G-d’s brilliant design, but then we’re all free to choose to maintain were here out of sheer luck and we’ll see how much that informs one’s existence. :-P
